Rules & Regulations

Pop Culture III - It's All About YOUths! is a Dance Competition organized by Pasir Ris Elias Community Centre Youth Executive Committee [As from now know as the Organizer]. The Terms & Conditions stated below shall apply to all stages of the competition.

By submitting the application form and registering for the Competition, the participant consents and agrees to be bound by the Terms & Conditions and acknowledge that the interest of the Competition shall override those of any participant.

Each participating Team must comprise of at least 4 to 8 participants.

This Competition is open to all Singaporeans and Permanent Residents between the ages of 12 to 35.

Participants who fall below the age of 18 must get their parents consent. A letter of consent can be obtained together with the application form.

All application forms together with payment (either by Cash or Cheque Only) must be submitted by mail (for Cheque payment only) to

or submitted personally on the day of registration (for Cash or Cheque payment). All cheques to be made payable to "PASIR RIS ELIAS CC YEC".

The participant understands and accepts that personal particulars and information stated in the application form and any information supplied by the participant may be used by the Organizer for purposes in connection with the promotion, marketing and publicity. The participant consents to the disclosure by the Organizer of such personal information and particulars to third parties, including but not limited to the Organizer, journalists, panel judges, and sponsors.

Participants should have the knowledge that the application fee of SGD$10.00 per team is non-refundable, regardless of the attendance of the team on the day of auditions or during any part of stages of the Competition.

The Organizer, Sponsors' staffs and any third party vendors in concern, shall be under no liability whatsoever in respect of any loss, damage, or injury sustained by any participants at any stage of the Competition.

Non-compliance with any of the Terms and Conditions by the participants shall immediately disqualify the team from further participant at any stage of the competition, and all cash and prizes won shall be forfeited and returned.

Each Team will have to put up a performance of not more than 3 minutes for the Audition.

The participating Team will be judged on dance choreography, originality, showmanship, costumes, and the special X-factor in hyping up and exciting the audience.

All Contestants are to provide their own music CD and costumes. Teams are to arrive in costumes at least 30 minutes before the auditions round.

No vulgarities, obscenity or aggression are allowed in the songs selection or dance routine.

Teams are to include an element in coherent with the Theme "It's All About YOUths!" into the Dance Routine. The element can be either in the costumes, props, songs selection or banner. Dance routine should be of either hip-hop or street jazz and must be youthful and vibrant.

No replacement of contestant is allowed throughout the Competition.

10 Teams will be selected from the Auditions to be present at the Grand Final on 7th of December 2008, Sunday.

Teams that get into the Grand Final must arrive at a stated time for combine rehearsal and stage run.

All registration forms must reach the Organizer by 28th of November 2008, Friday.

Teams wishing to withdraw from the Competition will have to inform the Organizer in writing at least 1 week in advance prior to the Competition Date. No refund will be made.

A Panel of Judges will decide on the winning teams and the decision of the Judges will be final. No further correspondence will be entertained.

The Organizer reserves the rights to use any photographs or films taken during the event for use exclusively in the Organizer's marketing and publications materials, without obtaining further consent from the contestants.

The Organizer reserves the rights to amend, correct and change information, with regards to the Rules & Regulations of the Competition whenever it deemed fits without prior notice.
